Sixth St. George City Council candidate determined after official canvas

ST. GEORGE – The sixth contender in the St. George City Council race was determined today after an official canvas was completed of the preliminary votes. The Council announced the results just after 4:35 p.m.

Tara Dunn took the sixth spot. Dunn will join the five other candidates, the three incumbents Gil Almquist, Gloria Shakespeare and Jon Pike, along with Ed Baca and Jimmie Hughes in the race for three open city council positions. The general election will be held Nov. 8.

All six candidates will be in attendance at the St. George News and Fox News Radio candidates debate being held live on 1450 AM and 96.7 FM on Wednesday, September 28 at 6:30 p.m. Residents are invited to attend the live event at the Gardner Center at Dixie State College.
