CSU San Bernardino posts 2-0 win over DSC’s women’s soccer team

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – After a scoreless first half, CSU San Bernardino forward Casey Hirsch broke free from the Dixie State defense and scored in the 48th minute helping the Coyotes to a 2-0 shutout win Thursday.

Dixie State drops to 0-1 on the young season after producing just eight shots compared to the Coyotes’ 15.

The sixth-place team in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) preseason poll added a Brittany Wilding in the 81st minute sealing Dixie State’s fate.

Camille Jensen and Mindi Beckstrom paced the Red Storm with two shots apiece. April Beck did make eight saves despite taking the loss in goal.

Dixie State returns to the pitch Saturday afternoon against Northeastern State (OK) University at 12:30 p.m. Mountain time.
