CEDAR CITY – On August 25 around 11:45 p.m., Cedar City Police, arrested three men on felony drug and weapons charges stemming from incidents in both the Cedar City and Blanding, Utah, areas.
The men were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute in a Drug Free Zone (2nd degree felony); nine counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Restricted Person (3rd degree felony); nine counts of Possession of a Stolen Firearm (2nd degree felony); two counts of Child Endangerment (3rd degree felony); and Cultivation of Marijuana in a Drug Free Zone (2nd degree felony).
Earlier in the week, investigators from the Cedar City Police Department initiated an investigation into an automobile burglary in the Fiddler’s Canyon area. During this investigation, officers learned of a possible burglary of a Utah police department where firearms and drugs were taken.
By chance, a UHP Trooper made a traffic stop in the Salt Lake City area for a traffic violation. This traffic stop yielded corroborating evidence about the alleged burglary, identified the victim agency as the Blanding Police Department; and, identified a list of suspects who committed the burglary.
A search warrant for the remaining guns and drugs was issued for a residence in Enoch, Utah. With the help of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, additional stolen guns and drugs from the burglary in Blanding were recovered.
I believe the headline should correctly state “burglarized” rather than “robbed.” 🙂
That does work better. Thanks for the input.
Jason’s input really added to the content of the story, thanks for sharing. I’m glad to see the headline piqued his interest. Or is it peaked? Peeked? Pinked? A little help, Jason?
