ST. GEORGE – The St. George Police Department is looking for a male suspected of robbing Wells Fargo Bank, 144 W. Brigham Road, just before noon today.

A press release from the police department said the suspect used a note to demand money, then left the bank on foot and officers circulated the area searching for the man.

Capt. James Van Fleet said he does not believe that a weapon was brandished during the robbery, but more details will be available later as the police and FBI conduct their investigation.

Shortly after the robbery, Tiffany Powers and her daughter, Shannon Amargo, were having lunch at Pepper’s Cantina, immediately adjacent to the bank.

“Cops are everywhere, looking for a short man with a wig!” she said.  “They can’t find him.”

The man was described as a short, white male, weighing around 150 pounds. Van Fleet said the man was wearing a woman’s-style red wig, a green plaid shirt and jeans.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Anyone who may have seen a male matching this description in the Brigham Road area, is urged to contact the St. George Police Department at 435-627-4300.

Again I say how about that 275 grand spent on the carousel. Think of what that money could have done to support our police department.

@James, I wish some of that money could’ve went toward public transit by getting a Suntran route to Bloom. Walmart and vicinity so i had an alternative commuting to work.
