Canyon Media, Online Web Marketing Partner to Acquire St. George News

In 2010, I assured you that the purpose of St. George News (formerly Dixie Press) was to serve the community with local, reliable and free news.

Our mission has been to provide the community with relevant, unrestricted, unbiased, fair and uplifting news in a timely fashion.

That mission continues today with our partnership with Canyon Media and Online Web Marketing. This new partnership allows us to continue to give you free news about the community you care about. And now we can bring you even more: Daily Deals, Calendar of Events, Obituaries, Movies, Classifieds, Breaking News on Air and more.

In July, 2010, St. George News found its birth in the home of two journalists who saw a need for change in reporting in Washington County. It began with half a dozen writers who volunteered their time to make St. George News what it is today: An online news service with over 61,000 unique readers.

Thanks to the hard work of many who were there with us in the beginning (Co-Founders Matthew Kearl & Travis Sheffield, as well as our numerous writers and supporters), we have grown to a reliable news source on which you can count.

I, Jen Watkins, being a Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief, have stayed on board, also joining Canyon Media on Fox News Radio KZNU, which airs every weekday morning with Bryan Hyde from 6 to 9 a.m. The Perspectives Morning Show with Bryan & Jen is just another way that we can bring you breaking news quickly and invite and enjoy your thoughtful interaction.

Assistant Editor Joyce Kuzmanic has joined the team to ensure your news is accurate, community–oriented and responsive.

Online Web Marketing will bring you daily deals each morning that will save you 50-80 percent on your favorite local retailers. They will also be upgrading the St. George News website to bring you more news in one location, delivering live video and audio broadcasts online as well.

Our goals remain the same, but with this new partnership we are able to service our community in a way that wasn’t possible before.

As we announce this partnership, which we expect will enhance the offering St. George News can make, we must acknowledge more than anything else that it is the community of St. George News followers, each and every one of you, who participate and contribute in more ways than can be mentioned, which makes this news service possible.  Every one of you have given us momentum, and it is our genuine commitment to reward you with a growing and every improving service.
