Elderly Woman Life-Flighted After Allegedly Being Abused by Her Grandson

ST. GEORGE – On June 26, 2011, St. George Police Department was notified of an 87-year-old female that was at Dixie Regional Medical Center seeking treatment for injuries that appeared suspicious.  After an extensive investigation, it is alleged her grandson, who has been living with her acting as her caretaker, assaulted the victim.

The female had injuries to her arms and head.  She was eventually transported by Life Flight to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray due to her head injury.  The grandson was interviewed and denied assaulting his grandmother.  He said she sustained the injuries from falling down.

The grandson was arrested and charged with aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult.  Adult Protective Services has been involved in seeing that the victim has proper care once she is released from the hospital.
