Toddlers Injured in Smith’s Parking Lot

ST. GEORGE – In two separate incidents, two children were injured Sunday in the parking lot of Smith’s.

Officer Johnny Heppler said that at approximately 10:30 a.m., a mother and her one-and-a-half-year-old boy were walking across the parking lot to the entrance of Smith’s when the child ran ahead and ran into a vehicle. Heppler said medical responded and the child was released to his mother with no major injuries.

At 2:30 p.m., a mother and her four-year-old daughter were loading groceries into the back of their vehicle when a car backing out of the parking stall and ran over the four-year-old’s foot, he said.

Heppler said charges are pending an investigation in the second incident.
