ST. GEORGE – The Habitat for Humanity Restore will be holding an Earth day Expo. It will be held on Saturday, April 16, at their location here in St. George. It is offered to help raise awareness of sustainability issues.
Several local businesses, including Preston shredding, Virgin Valley Recycling and the Southern Utah Recycling Coalition will be there to offer tips on sustainability and to educate the public about being Earth friendly.
The public is welcome to come and enjoy free food. There will be chips, cookies, drinks and solar cooked Hot Dogs.
Preston Shredding will offer free paper shredding. You can bring any of your personal paperwork, bank statements or old tax records, in order to have them destroyed by shredding.
There will also be electronics recycling. Bring unwanted computer towers, telephones, calculators and cell phones, so they can be properly recycled. Such electronic item should not be disposed of by throwing them away with the curbside trash.
Habitat for Humanity is an international organization that is known for its volunteer service of building simple and decent housing for those in need. Also, the organization has a several stores that stock reusable and surplus building materials for sale to the public at discount prices.
Habitat For Humanity’s Restore is located at 267 E. 1400 S. in St. George. The Event starts April 16th at 10am and goes on until 4 p.m.
