ST. GEORGE – Officers arrested a 22-year-old Washington County man yesterday on five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

Troy M. Wellman, 22, was arrested officers investigated allegations that Wellman had been engaging in sexual activity with a now 15-year-old girl for several years. Officers did not state how Wellman knew the victim.

Johnny Heppler said the investigation was conducted with Children’s Protective Services, and investigators determined enough probable cause suggesting Wellman had been involved in the sexual abuse.

Heppler said no further details will be released to protect the victim.
