HURRICANE – Young men and women in the eight through eleventh grades are invited to audition for a new performance team called “The Force” now forming in Hurricane.

Julie Parker, volunteer fine art’s director, said members of the The Force would represent Hurricane City at various venues throughout the county. The group’s performance season runs March through December.  Auditions are Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Hurricane Fine Arts Building, 60 S. 100 W. Space is limited and there is a $25 monthly fee per participant.

“These young men and women will have the chance to sing, dance, act and improve their skills while attending classes and entertaining others in a professional learning environment,” said Parker.

Those interested in auditions must bring a photo/resume, prepare a one-minute piece of talent, such as a dance or song, and be prepared to learn a basic dance combination. All those auditioning will be asked to sing a few notes and share a little information about their interests.

The Hurricane Fine Arts Program is slated to bring several concerts to the valley this year including performances by the Bar G Wranglers and the Dixie State College Raging Red Show Choir.  For more information about auditions, contact Julie Parker at [email protected] or call 435-635-2609.
