PHOENIX, AZ – The Dixie State College women’s tennis team opened up its 2011 campaign with a 0-9 loss to Chaminade University in Phoenix, AZ.
The Red Storm battled #5 and #6 singles, but in the end could not stay the course.
Coach Eric Pelton said, “It was great to get our first match in and see where we are. We had some good moments and should have could have won at least 2 of the doubles and singles but just came up a little short.
Chaminade breezed to victory in #1, #2, and #4 singles and #1 doubles.
“It was a good experience for the new players to see where they are and what to expect,” continued Coach Pelton. “We are looking to build on this and move forward into the future matches.”
The Red Storm have a big match tomorrow with #22-ranked Cal State Los Angeles.
