Washington County construction update on Dixie Drive Interchange and S.R. 9 in Hurricane

I-15, Dixie Drive Interchange
Contract: Washington County Constructors
Location: St. George (Mileposts 5 – 6)

Activity:
Excavation on the northbound shoulder. Sheetpile wall construction continues on the west side of the bridge. Northbound bridge construction is underway. The contractor continues forming columns and piers for the several structures that will support ramps and the overpass. Utility work is ongoing adjacent to the Dixie Center parking lot.

Impact:
Northbound traffic has been shifted to the southbound side of the interstate near the Santa Clara bridge. Be prepared for quickly merging traffic at the northbound I- 15 onramp from Bluff Street (Exit 6). When feasible, I-15 traffic should move to the left lane to allow cars onto the freeway. Cars exiting the freeway can facilitate movement through the workzone by moving to the right lane well in advance of exiting. All exits are open and there are 2 lanes of traffic in each direction. Speed is reduced to 55 m.p.h. The Hilton Drive trail is closed to bikes and pedestrians.
