St. George man arrested for burglarizing storage shed

ST. GEORGE – A 23-year-old St. George man was arrested over the weekend after a man called police saying his storage unit had been broken into.

Officer Johnny Heppler said a man reported that his unlocked storage shed had been burglarized and approximately $550 in tools had been stolen.

An investigation led officers to a pawn shop where the tools were located. Shane M. Vernlund was identified as the person who pawned the tools, Heppler said. Vernlund allegedly admitted to the theft.

Vernlund was charged with theft, burglary and was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.
