WASHINGTON – The National Tax-Limitation Committee (NTLC) has honored Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, with its 111th Congress Tax Fighter Award for his votes to reduce spending, cut taxes and shrink the size of government.
“Of all the honors one could receive, this one is especially gratifying to me because it symbolizes and recognizes my commitment to bring fiscal sanity back to Washington,” Hatch said. “Utahns and other Americans are tightening their belts and living within their means, and they expect their federal government to follow suit. That is why I am committed to continue fighting as hard as I can to stop the spendthrift policies of congressional liberals and this Administration. ”
In recognizing Hatch, NTLC President Lewis K. Uhler lauded the senator for his legislative achievements in the 111th Congress.
“Senator Hatch has led the battle on behalf of taxpayers to stop the passage of ObamaCare and cap-and-trade legislation, to make the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts permanent, to eliminate the death tax, to kill the Alternative Minimum Tax, to provide incentives for private savings, investment and job creation and to control the growth of federal spending,” Uhler said.
“Senator Hatch has been a major asset to taxpayers across America during his congressional service, having earned the Tax fighter Award consistently in every session of Congress. He has had the courage to challenge the orthodoxy of Washington spending and earmarks,” Uhler added.
