Marketplace: Business goes up in smoke

ST. GEORGE – Have you ever been sitting in your back yard and suddenly you get a wonderful aroma drifting through the yard? Your stomach begins to grumble and you readily recognize that someone has the BBQ out cooking up some grub.

 

When you drive down Sunset Boulevard you will get that déjà vu moment as you begin to notice the aroma coming for D.U.B.S BBQ formally known as Q4U. The name may have changed but the same owners are still cooking up your favorite BBQ.

 

If you catch them at the right moment, you may find Cameron or Randy Devey out in front of D.U.B.S engulfed in the savory smoke of hickory from the outdoor smoker. They prepare 300 to 500 lbs of meat per day, along with their side dishes and sauces. They have been preparing their very own sauce recipes since last year. Some of the inspiration in the making of the sauces came at the suggestion of local fans seeking a more traditional flavor.

 

Transplants from the Northern Utah, the Devey Family has a long history of being in the food industry. Asked why they decided on opening up a place in Southern Utah, Cameron replied, “what better place to have BBQ than in Dixie.”

 

D.U.B.S hasn’t been just lighting fires around their brick and mortar establishment. With their portable smoker in tow, they have been deeply involved in the community with catering to weddings, family reunions, businesses, scouting and athletic events.
