Nationally aclaimed scholar, author to speak at Tabernacle

ST. GEORGE – Join us for a humorous and enlightening discussion of “Hugh Nibley On The Book of Mormon” on Friday, October 1, at 7 p.m. in the Tabernacle by Marilyn Arnold, Emeritus Professor of English at Brigham Young University. There will also be a wonderful musical number by the talented Shareen Poter, Candace Potter and Kinny Stubbs. This fireside is free, dress is casual and everyone is invited. Handicap access is available.

 

Anyone who has read Marilyn Arnold’s books knows that, “If you like to laugh, and think a little too”, you’ll want to attend this Fireside. She has authored eight published novels – one of them a national award winner. She has also authored several books of non-fiction, including the newly released Bittersweet: A Daughter’s Memoir.

 

Arnold is a popular speaker and author, and has spoken and published widely in the academic world, as well as in Church publications and communities. She has lectured and led discussions on the Book of Mormon in many settings, including this spring at the Hugh Nibley Centennial lecture series at BYU. Her classic work “Sweet is the Word:  Reflections on the Book of Mormon”’, is well-known.
