Southern Utah first provided the Fremont Indians with fresh catches of rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, walleye, bass and yellow perch. The pioneers would later follow and soon would fall in love with the abundance that our mountains streams, reservoirs and lakes provide.

Today is no different, except maybe the countless tools, cool gadgets and latest gizmos fishermen can employ. But the timeless feeling of taking in the beauty of your surroundings, enjoying friends and family. and catching your dinner, will never go out of style. There are countless miles of Lakes and Streams in the Southern Utah area just waiting for you. The cool run off from the winter snowpack keep the conditions perfect all year and provides an ideal environment for the fish to mature and breed. Water sources from Zion National Park and the 10,000 foot high Pine Valley Mountain bring streams filled with trout to reservoirs such as Gunlock, Baker, Quail Creek, Sand Hollow, Kolob and others.

Bait or fly, boat or shore might be some questions you'll ask, but ultimately the real question is bake or fry.

Please be aware of the local fishing laws. Some of our lakes and reservoirs are lure or fly only. Check with your retailer when you buy your license. Fishing licenses may be obtained from stores in St. George, Hurricane, Veyo, Enterprise and other towns.
