Zion Geology at Springdale

  • Zion Geology
  • Short hikes, an indoor visual presentation, and trailside lectures will highlight important geological concepts of Zion National Park. The workshop will focus on exploring the continual geologic processes at work in Zion. The group will get an up-close look at the effects of landslides and rock falls which still occur in the park. The role and power of water in the cutting and shaping of the canyon will also be revealed through a riverside hike. This is an excellent overview of the subject for the beginning to mid-level geologist.
