Using native plants in landscapes just makes sense. They conserve resources, benefit nature, prevent weeds, and, most of all, are beautiful. In this class we will discuss the benefits of using native plants & some basics of making your project successful. We will go over the seven principles of xeriscaping & talk about some of the plants native to our area & how to utilize them in your own landscape planning. We will visit the Zion National Park Native Plant Nursery & various projects within the park to see examples of native plant use in planned landscapes, as well as take a short hike to see them in their native habitats.
Fee: $50
Instructor: Lisa White
Ages: 15 years and up
Meets: 9 am at the Zion National Park Human History Museum and continues until about 1 pm. -
