ST. GEORGE – Police arrested two St. George residents for alleged drug distribution following the search of their hotel room last week.
Cameron Micheal Kennedy, 34, and Lyndee Marie Kennedy, 30, were arrested by St. George Police Thursday following a complaint made to police that they had a “large amount of drugs” in the hotel room they were in at the time.
Based on the complaint, officers secured a search warrant for the room at a hotel located on St. George Boulevard. Police found multiple substances, including alleged narcotics, according the probable cause statements related to the incident.
“During the search I was able to locate several items of controlled substance including a white crystals substance, (a) brown powder like substance, (a) black sticky tar substance, mushrooms, and several miscellaneous pills,” an officer involved the arrest wrote in the statements.
The substances are believed to be methamphetamine, heroin and psychedelic mushrooms. The pills found are believed to be methadone, oxycodone, oxycodone hydrochloride and amphetamine.
Along with the drugs, officers found several digital scales in the hotel room, $200 in cash and a blue notebook.
“While looking in the notebook I was able to locate several areas where it lists information regarding the drug sale transactions made with other people,” the officer wrote.
The two were arrested and booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility and charged with multiple felonies including drug possession and possession of drug with the intent to distribute.
The two have since been released on bail with a pending court date of Jun. 11.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
