ST. GEORGE — Offense was the name of the game for the Pine View Panthers Wednesday night as Cody Ruesch scored 21 points to help PV to an 81-63 victory over the Enterprise Wolves.
Pine View scored 44 points in the first half and led by 18 at intermission. Ruesch showed his versatility, dominating the post and even stepping out to hit a 3-pointer.
The Panthers, 2-0, made 30 of 51 field goals in the game, a whopping 58 percent. PV also was 8 of 16 from 3-point territory (50 percent) and 13 for 16 from the free throw line (81 percent).
Ruesch grabbed six boards and handed out three assists to go with his 21 points and Tybo Johnston had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Joining those two in double-figures were Kade Moore (13 points, 4 assists) and Brandon Yates (12 points, 8 boards). Trey Farrer had nine points for Pine View, which now heads to Richfield for the 3A Preview tournament this weekend. The Panthers face Logan Friday at 2:30 p.m. and then battle Grantsville at 9 a.m. Saturday. Both games will be at the Sevier Valley Center.
Enterprise, which is now 0-3 on the young season, was led by Kaden Simkins (12 points, 4 3-pointers) and Michael Dougherty (12 points), along with Caden Prisbrey (11 points).
The Wolves will also be in Richfield Friday and Saturday for the 2A Preview. Enterprise battles Manti at 10 a.m. Friday and North Sevier at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the SVC.
